On 21 April 2026, BLUEPRINT project partners gathered in Balla, Ireland, for a local workshop focused on exploring how digital tools can support sustainable town regeneration and heritage-led development.
Organised by ACT, the workshop brought together project partners and local stakeholders to collaborate on defining practical use cases that reflect the needs and opportunities of the local community.
From local needs to digital solutions
During the workshop, participants worked together to refine the initial use cases into three priority scenarios before matching them with the most suitable digital tools developed within the BLUEPRINT project.
This collaborative approach ensured that the project’s solutions remain closely aligned with real-world challenges and local priorities.
Exploring Balla’s regeneration journey
The programme also included a guided walking tour of Balla, led by Balla Community Resource Development (BCRD). The visit provided participants with valuable insights into the town’s heritage, regeneration ambitions and local context, helping connect technical discussions with on-the-ground realities.
Building on these observations, participants continued the afternoon session by identifying how BLUEPRINT’s digital tools could best support each of the selected use cases.
Strengthening collaboration for more resilient communities
The workshop provided an opportunity to strengthen collaboration between project partners and local stakeholders while promoting a clearer understanding of the BLUEPRINT project’s objectives and digital solutions.
By combining local knowledge with collaborative planning, the event marked another important step towards supporting more resilient, sustainable and future-ready communities.
